Another Request Sent to Expedite the EP Process

Just sent another request to the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) to process the EP while they are reviewing/revising the policies related to adoption in Korea, rather than wait till all the review/revision is worked out.  I asked them whether they couldn't do this simultaneously.

I mentioned that there are many families in the US that are on the edge for having waited so long and eagerly waiting for the arrival of their children.  And then there are those children that need to be united with their families.  I said that I am appealing on behalf of all the waiting parents and children.

Let's pray that all the issues will be quickly resolved at MOHW and the waiting children will be home soon.

  1. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! I cannot say that enough. It is one thing to deal with our own sadness regarding the long wait but my heart is breaking for my son whose transition is being made that much more difficult with each passing day.

  4. Thank you so very much for the update and information. Your blog is a lifeline for us. We accepted our referral almost 14 months ago and are anxious for the wait to finally be over. Is it possible that after a delay like this the Ministry will issue EPs any faster than their normal 4-6 week timeline?

  13. Thank you so much for pleading to the ministry on our behalf! We've been waiting 14 months since our referral and are longing to meet our sweet boy. Our children at home pray daily for their brother and we are all anxiously awaiting the day when we will get the call that he is ready for us to come and pick him up. So grateful to Korea for giving us the opportunity to parent this child! Hoping the ministry will start the EP applications right away & approve them quickly!

  16. Thank you MPAK! I know there are lots of hurting families out there. I pray that things progress smoothly going forward. I pray that the Ministry will move their processes forward and that it will help for future families. Even though we just received our referral for our son, we are worried about long waits (14 months plus). ugh.. thinking of all the anxious parents out there.

  24. Thank you. Did you get a resopnse? Our stateside agency told us today that no EP's have been issued for the month of January (there is still one more day, we guess). It's a great service that you do.
